In this inquiry, students will read and analyze numerous sources about the lives of Indian women during WWII and determine if there was one singular role that they fulfilled or various ones. This inquiry utilizes a news article on the Rami of Jhansi Regiment, a transcript of a speech by Aruna Asaf Ali, and two excerpts from Usha Mehta. Included with this item is: the lesson plan, a modified version of the lesson at middle school level, a lesson specific powerpoint, as well as a teacher resource which help answer each lesson plan. If you modify any of the materials please feel free to send them back to us, so we can see where you made changes.
