In this inquiry, students will analyze extracts and depictions of the goddess Sita. Students will debate what these documents can tell us about the archetypal “Indian woman” and to what extent Sita fits (and helped to create) this archetype. This lesson plan looks at the stories of Sita, Rama, and Ravana. Included with this item is: the lesson plan, a modified version of said lesson plan at the middle school level, a lesson specific powerpoint, as well as two teacher resources which help answer each lesson plan.
